Cara Taylor Obituary

After a life embracing the beauty of nature, people and herself, Cara Taylor died peacefully the morning of October 9th. Her love of travel took her all over the world. Passionate about nature and the ocean, she made many trips to beaches and bodies of water.

After raising two sons, she became interested in the connection between body, mind and spirit. Studying numerous healing modalities, she opened a Jin Shin Jyutsu office in the 1980s, serving hundreds of clients over the next 30+ years.

Cara's deep concern about economic inequality and desire for peace led her to visit barrios during the Nicaraguan war, work with Mother Theresa's sisters in Haiti, and be the first executive Director of Hope House for homeless people with AIDS.

She is survived by her husband Paul, sons Don (Nancy) and Steve, and granddaughters Emma and Abbey. Her sister Betsey Williams, nephew Brian (Jo) Taylor and "sisters of the heart" rounded out Cara's family. There is no celebration of life scheduled yet. Instead Cara invites you to go into nature and reflect on fun times with her, or do a random act of kindness for a stranger.
