Carl was born Aug 10, 1931 in the family home on Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights to Alton & Iva (Deason) Healy. He passed away October 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Carl attended Sylvan Elementary & graduated from San Juan High School in 1949. He also attended Sierra College & American River College. He served in the United States Air Force 1951-1955. Carl served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant in Jan 1955. Growing up Carl worked on the family ranch & later was employed by Hall's Market, Popes Mohawk Service Station, Wonder Bread, Aerojet, Allen Transportation, Regional Transit & Regional Transit Light Rail. Carl was a Mason, a Shriner & a member of the Citrus Heights Community Church. His passions were his family, travel & cars. Carl was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dee Dee, who passed away in May 2015 after close to 62 years of marriage, his parents, brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, & a nephew. Carl is survived by daughters Denise (John) Peck, Deanna (Steve) Gans & son Michael (Suzie Casanas) Healy. Four grandchildren Lisa Peck, Erick (Rachael) Peck, Matthew Gans, Marissa Gans all from Roseville & Camilla Casanas from Los Angeles. Four great grandchildren, all from Roseville, EJ Peck, Caleb Peck, Taelynn & Braxton Peck. Two brothers, Dexter & Darwin Healy. Many nieces & nephews, great & great great nieces & nephews. Carl was a cancer survivor but suffered from diabetes, congestive heart failure, & dementia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the organizations along with the American Cancer Society in memory of Dee Dee or Carl. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, Nov 19th at 2:00 pm. Destiny Christian Church, in the Atrium, 6900 Destiny Dr, Rocklin, CA 95677.

I told this story at his memorial, but thought I should share here so all can enjoy. Those that knew Mr Healy (as those of us friends w Michael always called him) will relate to this. When the pastor spoke of Carl's obsession with cars, especially Honda's, it reminded me of a ride Michael and I took in his dads Honda up to the store for something his mom needed. (This was back around 1977 or 78 I think). Anyway, I remember noticing the front seats were kinda weird. Looking closer, I realized they had been switched. Michael in all seriousness said, yeah, dad likes to rotate them to keep the wear and tear even. Lol yup Mr Healy always kept his cars in prime condition and this was an example of how he did it.
