Carol Firth Baxter Obituary

Carol Lou Firth Baxter
July 5, 1934 - January 26, 2021
Sacramento, California - Born in Redding, California on July 5, 1934; died of sudden heart failure on January 26, 2021 at the age of 86. Carol eloped in December 1953 with Frank Everett Baxter, Jr. The 43 year marriage ended with Frank's untimely death in 1996. Carol enjoyed extra innings in the game of love when, in her 70's she met Denny Hull. They were life partners for ten years. Carol is survived by her three children, Brook, Leslie and Dennis and grandchildren Chase, Jenna, Charlotte, Lauren and Braden.
After graduating with high honors from UC Davis in 1975 with a degree in Environmental Design, Carol worked as an ASID accredited interior designer at Arktegraf in Sacramento. She was a creative force throughout her life, designing and making jewelry, textiles, furniture, ceramics and paintings, and earning awards in multiple media. Her family appreciated her creativity in the kitchen- Carol was a terrific cook, and cultivated her garden to feed beloved family, friends and neighbors. Carol's philosophy about food and life in general was,"Abbondanza!"
Carol made exercise a priority. Few were surprised that on the day of her death, she had completed an aerobics class and logged 6,000 steps on her Fitbit.
Carol lived a life of heart and love for her family, neighbors and friends to the very end.
She will be interred in Redding Cemetery.
