Saddened to hear of the world's loss but Heaven's gain. I went to LBHS with Cathy and even in the halls between classes she stood out in the crowd as it seemed she found joy in every minute and could be heard singing under her breath or laughing or making someone else laugh. She was everybody's friend, that gal. Sending prayers to all family and friends...remember it is not goodbye it is "until we meet again"

Cathy has always been, and will always be, a bright spot in my memory; to think of her is to remember warmth and laughter—lots of laughter. In high school we once did several scenes from the Wizard of Oz; I was the Scarecrow and Cathy was the Cowardly Lion. At one point, when we first go to see the Wizard, the Lion is so nervous he pulls his own tail and yelps, "Somebody pulled my tail!" to which I respond, "Oh, you did it yourself." However when Cathy said the line she pulled so hard she ripped the tail off her costume without knowing it. Well the audience began shrieking with laughter, and soon everyone on stage had caught on—except Cathy, who couldn't understand what was so incredibly funny. Finally she noticed her dangling tail and, with great comic timing said, "Oops, I don't know my own strength!" and pretended to stick the tail back on, holding against her butt for the rest of the scene. We got a standing ovation, but it was really for Cathy, who turned disaster into triumph. To me she was a triumph of a human being and I'll forever cherish the light she added to my life. I am glad I got to see the memorial speeches that bridged me to the past about her. Although I did not know Cathy really well in high school-I could feel the warmth of her personality that rippled into my life too even then. Steve-just a hug is not enough-we all carry her memory as an example of how to live our lives always! SIncerely, Terry

Cousin Steve,
Words cannot express how saddened I am to hear of Cathy's passing. Even though we all did not get together often, you could tell you two had something very special. This is such a trying time for your entire family. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and all those who knew Cathy and will miss her so much. Please let us here in Arizona know if there is anything we can do. Sending love and strength your way,

Cathy was a one-of-a-kind co-worker, and friend. We will always remember her beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor. Working a 12-hour shift went by all too quickly with Cathy around, telling us jokes and stories from her past. She will be greatly missed by all of us on Tower 4 at UCDMC. Our hearts are filled with the wonderful memories of the joyful times we spent with Cathy. May we continue to remember her and celebrate her life- a life well lived.

Steve,
I am saddened to hear of your loss. Even though time has separated us all since high school, my memory of Cathy was her sense of humor, her witt and that great smile. Especially the smile! That will truly be missed. That part of her will always remain with us. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I am so sad and at a loss for words. I remember how Cathy and I would throw paper balls at each other over our shared cubicle wall when she was in Home Health at UCD. She'd tell me I was being too quiet and she'd toss one at me to cheer me up. Not long, and we were all tossing paper around at each other. I will truly miss her, her smile and laugh and the biggest unselfish heart of anyone I know.

Steve,
Cathy was such a caring person, admired and loved by all who knew her. The world has lost one of its brightest lights. It brings a smile to my face when I think of the time Lisa and I double dated with you guys to the Senior Ball. I'll always remember Cathy's hearty laugh and wonderful sense of humor from that grand night long ago!
Our thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Very sad news to hear. Although I have not stayed in touch with her for years she filled a very large space in my early years. I've known her since Fern Bacon and all through Luther Burbank. Very active with her in theatre. She was the greatest cowardly lion I'd ever seen. My prayers and thoughts are with her family. Those shining eyes and bright smile will be remembered.
