Charles Bombola Obituary
September 14, 1931 - July 21, 2022
Sacramento, California - Charles "Chuck" Bombola passed away on July 21, 2022 at home of natural causes. Chuck was born in Jamestown, NY, and the family moved to Lodi, CA when he was 13. He graduated from Tokay High School in 1949, joined the Air Force in 1951, and married Marlene Schlichting that same year.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1971, he went to college and got his teaching degree in 3 years. He taught shop at Cordova High from 1973-1986, when he retired from teaching. He enjoyed all aspects of classic cars and other hobbies until his passing.
He is predeceased by his wife, Marlene (2012), and all 3 siblings. He is survived by children Brad (Ray), Brent (Marcie), Brian (Sasha), Bronda (Kirk), daughter of his heart Sharon, Granddaughter Brooke (Tommy), great grandchildren Mateo and Dominic, and many other close family members.
Per his wishes there will be no services, and his ashes will be scattered together with Marlene's at a later date.

Chuck and my dad met early in their Air Force careers, bonding over their love of cars. Although they were never stationed together again, the friendship lasted over the years and became stronger when both families retired in California. He was truly my 2nd dad, especially after losing my own. Both sets of parents are together again. I will miss his hugs most of all.

Mr. Bombola was one of my favorite patients to care for over many years at the Mather Eye Clinic. He always had a genuine smile. Thank you for your service and rest in peace sir. My deep condolences to his family.

I didn't have Mr Bombola for class but he was as Lancer as we all were. So much respect for all of our teachers. I'm sorry for your loss. May the memories you have of him be great. RIP Mr Bombola-I hope there are classic cars in heaven for you to tinker on for all eternity.

One of two classes in high school that I absolutely loved! Metal shop & Auto shop. Mr. Bombola was the coolest teacher a 17 year old kid could have had! His was the very last classroom I attended. I went on to attempt being an auto mechanic, but 1978 was not the year to do that. So I became a welder. His influence on my life was life long. God bless!

I had Mr. Bombola for auto shop when I was in school. He was such a caring and great teacher
