I know you don't care about stuff like this... I know you believe you are in eternal rest... So I'm selfish and talking to you and writing to you as if you can read. I just miss you and wish I could speak to you. I love you.

I always enjoyed corresponding with Bud about our similar genealogical roots in the Smartsville and Grass Valley area. He was always finding something new and shared whatever he learned. He came to our Pioneer Day several years. I will miss being able to compare notes but I am sure he is meeting all those folks now.

Anyone can be forgotten but not a man who chose a life of selflessness and generosity toward his grand children to the very end. If one day you will miss him, search in your heart, there you can feel him, be with him and embrace him. For the person can only be physically gone but never the life lived and the memories shared. Now, the angels rejoice as a good soul has finally made its way home. Have faith and be strong! My sincere sympathy to all of the Compton family

Enjoyed working with Bud at the Grant USD. He helped keep my Foothill Farms JHS library up and running. He was a character and a gentleman.

Mr. Compton was a man I personally did' know however, I know of his children. We grew up together and played and interacted w/ea other in our younger days . Alan is our handy man n he shares a kindness towards the elderly in our community. He has been a faithful worker (over a several years ) serving four neighbors on Quinn Way. I trust this character reflects " who he is. Where he comes from" Doug too is another brother who carries himself in " good standing" in our community. Mr. Compton will be missed but, he has been a loyal man and I trust he will be Celebrated.
Rest In Peace.....
Love from: Quinn Way neighbors

I spent a lot of time with Bud while pretty young at Aunt Olga and Uncle Chuck's home. Lots of memories. Swimming in the water tank, going to matinees, listing to " Inner Sanctum" on the radio at Hispanic friends dark and cool basement. (Sorry, can't recall the family's name). It was a very scary radio show. On the way home in the dark Bud would take off running leaving me in a dark field alone. I still love you Bud❤

I met Bud once last summer on the American River! Knowing a lot of his grand/great grandchildren I feel like I've gained so many new family members! I wish for these sad times to ease with time! RIP. Asleep in Jesus
