Christopher Stassi Obituary
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Christopher served as a paratrooper with the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) stationed with the 58th Infantry Division of the 7th Corps in Germany from 1964 to 1967. His military service was a source of immense pride throughout his life.
Christopher was a talented artist and custom knife artisan. His passion for craftsmanship extended to creating intricate belts, knives, carvings, and leatherwork. He also had a deep love for drawing and reading, pursuits that reflected his creative spirit and intellectual curiosity.
He attended Mira Loma High School and built a career that combined his artistic talents with his dedication to precision and detail. His work as an artisan left a lasting impression on those who appreciated his skill and artistry.
Christopher was predeceased by his parents, Patricia and Victor Stassi; and his brother, Kenneth Stassi. He is survived by his niece Kristin Stassi Venegas (married to Art Venegas) and their children Juliana and Nick Venegas; as well as his nephew Kirt Stassi (married to Susie Stassi) and their children Kyler, Cole, and Kallie Stassi.
A committal service with military honors will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 2 p.m., where Christopher will be laid to rest in recognition of his service to his country.
May Christopher's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a reminder of a life well-lived.

My name is Denny Hendrickson, and Chris was my cousin.He was older than me, but I didn´t know it was by 4 years. Growing up, as kids, we never hung out together, but it was always fun and special to see him at various family functions, especially the annual family Christmas party put on by his parents, my Aunt Pat and Uncle Dutch, and then by his brother Kenny and his wife, Kathy. It was when we were in our 60´s that Chris would stop by my house in Carmichael and we´d sit out back and visit over a couple of beers. Then I picked him up a couple times to drive up to Colusa to see some classic car shows. The last trip to Colusa was to join a work party event to help out with a home make-over for his nephew, Kurt and his wife, Suzie. That was quite a trip....he picked me up in his corvette convertible and we tried to have a conversation during the drive.. Can you imagine two old farts trying to talk in a convertible on the freeway? It was "What?" From him, then "What?" From me! We sure laughed about that later. Once my wife, Paula, and I moved to Alabama, I only had a few phone conversations with him. I wish I had been more diligent about keeping in touch with him. I´m gonna miss him.
