Dear Chin family,

We are very sorry to hear of your terrible loss. Sam taught us much about the human spirit. A very religious and hard working man. We enjoyed our association with him at the Chinese Benevolent Association and remember how he helped my dad at Franklin Poultry in the fifties making deliveries on the weekends while working full time at Campbell Soup.

Our heartfelt sympathies,
Freeman and Soo

Dear Chin family,

I first met Sam during my early college years when he was helping a young pastor (Wilfred Chung) at Chinese Gospel Mission set up meetings at his Greenhaven home. He was always good natured, positive, with a memorable smile.
I got to know him when I rode along with him to CBM camp in that old "Pink Bus" to pick up our church campers, helping him watch the water level in a 30-gallon trash can jerry-rigged with a water pump and line to help cool the engine. We talked on the way to camp about the mission's history, his coming to the US, my college goals and our church's transition.
He was generous and knowledgeable about real estate in those early years of his career. He advised me and Anna (for free) on where to find the lowest loan rates and names of contacts to purchase our home . He also helped pastors Sen and Gershom find homes in town as they began their ministry.
It's been my privilege and pleasure to have worked with Sam on the church board during those years of transition to our new location. He was one of the key members to help plant our current church building.
I am honored to have known such a gracious Christian gentleman through the years. I will always remember him with "Hi, Sam, how are you doing?" and with him answering, "Hi, Bob, good to see you too!" with his usual Sam smile as we pass each other in the church's foyer.

Thanks for sharing you husband and dad with me and the rest of us at CGBC.

Always, Bob

Dear Chin Family,
Bob and I are so sorry for the loss of Sam Chin. Bob recalls Sam giving him a ride up to Mt. Hope for CBM camp and getting to know him along the ride. I recall my Dad, Jimmy Wu, often speaking fondly of Sam and their years of friendship. He was always that friendly face at church. His faithful service and labor of love were not in vain. Another saint missed here on earth but welcomed into his eternal home.
