Clyde Cassady

1930 - 2019

Joining Hermi, the love of his life for 68 years, Clyde Cassady left his earthbound family on February 1, 2019. Born in Los Angeles to Charles and Pearle Cassady in 1930, the family moved often during his young life, finally settling in Carmichael where Clyde was a proud graduate of San Juan High School, Class of 48. While attending college he met Hermi Jacobs whom he fell in love with and married just after being drafted into the Army, arranging a two day pass from Camp Roberts for a wedding and honeymoon. He proudly served during the Korean conflict. He returned to enter the building trade, eventually becoming a General Contractor, specializing in custom homes. Clyde and Hermi soon moved to Fair Oaks, where they raised their family and spent the rest of their lives. Upon retirement, due to his lifetime love of cars, Clyde began his second career, building and restoring classic cars, mostly Rolls Royce and Bentleys. Clyde loved being with family, owning unique cars, motorbike rides in the Sierra and Nevada, biking the American River bike trail (which he did well into his 80s), boating, traveling, photography and spending time at the family cabin at Lake Tahoe. He was always up for helping out and he loved having fun. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Hermi and his beloved brother Lyle. Clyde will be forever loved and missed by his son, Dave (Angela) daughter Nora (Jim), grandchildren Dustin, Ryan (Shelby) and Eyan, great grandson and many nieces and nephews.
