Many a night I worked the closing shift at Harry & David with Connie, but it never really felt like work. The two of us always had a great time together. She knew how to make me laugh, would scare me everytime she sneezed, and would send George to walk me out if I was too scared to go alone. Connie will always be a part of my heart, and I'll miss her dearly. I'll be planting sunflowers in my garden this spring just for her.

I have been a friend to Connie since our children were in preschool. She loved her family and we often would run into each other in the grocery asile to catch up on which directions our lives were going. We talked more often in the past year after my husband passed away. It reminds us that life is short and we must do the best we can to find God's purpose here on earth. I can imagine that Connie is peaceful and maybe even met up with "Cowboy" in heaven. My thoughts and prayers to George and the family.

Connie was my dearest and best friend in the world. I miss her so much. I have wonderful memories of all the fun we had - it did not matter what we were doing. I know that I could not have gone through surgery and chemo a few years ago without her. She called me everyday to see if I was OK. She will always be in my heart. I felt we were just like sisters -we would talk about everything. I was so glad I got the chance to sit with her in the hospital and tell her how I felt about her and I hope she could hear me. I love you Connie and miss you so much.

Connie was always such a devoted Mom and the greatest fan when the children played sports. We will always remember her spirit when our girls (Laura & Jessica) played soccer with Kristian & George. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Umberger family.

I have fond memories of the five of us moms (Connie, Linda, Patty, Geri and myself) with our five girls going on outtings. Especially the one to San Francisco when the girls all took their Cabbage Patch "babies" with them, left them in the car and when we came back to the car all of their "babies" were almost melted. Fun times for young moms. We were a great support for each other.
Another memory..Connie did my hair for my wedding..that was 42 years ago.
I'll keep those memories safe.

Connie was such a great person and friend. Unfortunely, we didn't keep in touch for many years. After my son, Andy Bruton, died in April, 2003, Connie would just pick up the phone several times a year to say "How are you doing...I was thinking about you". I cherished that. I have great memories of all the times we spent going to George and Connie's house to play cards and board games. George, Mike and I are here for you for anything you need. Love you.
