Cynthia Tickler Obituary

Cynthia Louisa Tickler

October 5, 1946 - June 11, 2024

Clarksburg, California - Cynthia "Cindy" Louisa Tickler (Evenson), 77, of West Sacramento, CA, passed away on June 11, 2024, surrounded by her family, at her beloved home in Clarksburg.

Cindy & Jim raised their family in West Sacramento. Cindy was a devoted mother to her sons, Erik (Jennifer) and Mark (Kim), and a loving grandmother to Colby, Chase, Jack, Jacob, and Kyle. She is survived by her husband, sons, grandsons, sister Gloria Dunham, and brother Hokey Evenson. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Evenson, mother, Verna Jean Evenson, and brother, Vern Evenson.

When Cindy and Jim moved to the Colby Ranch in Clarksburg in 2004, it was a return to her husband's roots. The ranch became a sanctuary for Cindy, a place of peace where she could lovingly tend to her beautiful garden and observe the wildlife in Elk Slough. The changing seasons of the vineyard and the breathtaking sunsets were a constant source of joy for her.

Cindy loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She always attended their sporting, school, and life events. She was an active member of the Clarksburg Garden Club. She was very dedicated to her community and church. She was Chairperson of the Bereavement Committee at St. Joseph's Church for ten years, where she took great pride in providing solace and peace to people grieving their loved ones. She also established the St Joseph's Ladies Club, which will carry on with fond memories of her. Cindy also enjoyed assisting with the monthly Clarksburg Community Church senior luncheons. She was honored by the Lion's Club in March 2018 as the Woman of the Year with a beautiful celebration at the Grand Island Mansion.

A service to honor Cindy's life will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Clarksburg, CA, on June 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Instead of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sacramento Food Bank in memory of Cindy Tickler (Evenson).
