Daisy Davis Obituary

DAVIS, Daisy
On April 7, 2006, with her daughters holding her hand, Daisy Davis left this earthly place to soar with the eagles. Daisy was born on September 7, 1922 in Pleasant Valley, California to Virgil Avansino and Alida (Bryant) Avansino, two early California pioneer families. She was a proud graduate of the class of 1941 from El Dorado County High School. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, children Michael Davis, Melodee Bagdazian, Marlene Patton, and Marvin Davis as well as their spouses, Cathy Davis, Odell Patton, and Kyong Davis. In addition the lights of her life, her grandchildren Natalie Follett and husband Terry, Kevin Bagdazian and wife Cynthia, Suzette Patton, Jarred Patton, Travis Patton, Emerald Davis; and great-grandchildren Anthony and Ashley Follett. Daisy was a simple woman who loved simple things. She loved the mountains at Stonebreaker, wildlife roaming through the countryside, dogwood trees and daffodils blooming in the springtime, John Wayne, old movies, musicals, the San Francisco Giants and Dallas Cowboys, (even when they lost), and most of all her family. Our mom and Grandma could play a fierce hand of pinochle, make a scrumptious apple pie, was a friend to all the birds and wildlife that frequented her West Sacramento home, and road her bicycle to work every day at the Club Pheasant until she was over 70 years old. All who knew her loved her. They don't make them like that anymore. She has left us now to delight again in the company of her sister Alida; her husband Merle; and her father Virgil. Special thanks to Anne and Larry Mendosa, her friends and neighbor for over 30 years and to Kessa and her caregivers at Laguna Park care home. At Daisy's request, graveside services at Camellia Memorial Lawn will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of River Cities Funeral Chapel. Mom and Grandma, we love you. xx oo

My thoughts and prayers have been with your family. From what I remember she was the sweetest person and so much fun to be around, just like the rest of the family. She truly shines through those that loved her.

My deepest sympathy to all of you at this time. I did have the pleasure of meeting Daisy at Club Pheasant, what a remarkable human being. I shall never look at my Wolf cup and not think of Daisy.

Melodee & Marlene,

I still remember the little walk down the great white hall of OSP from the trainning room area to the front office in which your mom commented that Melodee always liked to "dress up" and Marlene was a "tom boy". Anybody who rides their bike to work at Daisy's age has got to be special. May the time that you spend with your family during the next few days be a source of comfort and healing during this transition. You will be in our prayers...

My Love and Condolences to the family. Ms.Daisy will be missed and always Loved. She didn't require much of the material things in life but, she aquired the best of natures blossoms. I enjoyed having tea Ms.Daisy and riding around looking in front yards at the pretty flowers. The old saying of "Don't forget to smell the roses" will alway remind me of her.

My Prayers go out to you all.

I met Daisy only a few times as a Hospice volunteer. Though a victim of Alzheimers as well as cancer, she seemed to perk up whenever I mentioned the salad dressing she made at the restaurant where she worked for so long. I wished I would have known her background at the time I visited her. I'm sure I could have seen more of those alert moments when referencing John Wayne, who I also love! She's at peace now and no longer suffering. She was a very special person.
