Daniel Cabral Obituary

Daniel passed away at his house surrounded by his adoring family. He fought a valiant fight against Pancreatic Cancer. Dan is survived by his wife, Donna, his daughters Julie and Melissa, his son Steven, his dog Max his son in law Milo and grandson Jackson and his cat Belle Belle and of course Felix his horse. Dan is also survived by his sister Elva, and brothers David, Manuel and Bobby. Daniel is loved by many other family members and friends. Daniel loved his family, his career, camping, joking around, making up funny silly songs, crazy dances, old cars, doing electrical work, working on his property and Bobcat, and watching the sunsets from the deck while listening to music his father and mother used to listen to. Daniel was a member of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department of 26 years. He spent the last three years as the Vice President of the Deputy Sheriffs Association. He was very proud of the men and women of the department and served them as individuals and friends. The Department was Dan's second family and at times the two collided. Dan taught me how to live each day like a new beginning. En mi Corazon, en mi sol, en mi mente, hasta venomous mi Corazon. Dan wanted the men and women on the Sheriff's Department to know to always wear the uniform proudly and remember you are held to a higher standard and secondly, never take your time with your family for granted because you never know what tomorrow will bring. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 there will be a visitation Service held at the Deputy Sheriff's Association Office located at 1700 "I" Street Suite 100, Sacramento, California 95811 from 2-8 PM. Services for Dan will be held Thursday June 8, 2017 at Rolling Hills Church, 800 White Rock Rd, El Dorado Hills California 95762 at 1030 a.m. Reception to follow.

Deepest sympathy to the Cabral Family.
Dan was a bright light for so many during tragic times. He offered hope, healing, and justice to those he served in our community. His smile and caring nature will not be forgotten. He will be missed tremendously and remembered with respect, admiration and love. Prayers to you his family, who sacrificed so much for him to serve others.

We first met Dan at a vaulting competition in Eugene Oregon where his daughter Melissa was performing. I loved his calm personality and he had such a great smile (nice teeth too) but was also taken by his sweet wife Donna. A completely generous family. Dan leading Felix. What an awesome sight. Forever in our hearts Dan Cabral.

From the first time I met Dan I knew he was a special person. He had a confidence about him but was humble in his interactions. I was blessed to have the opportunity to work with him on two occasions throughout our careers and have many great memories of him. He brought smiles to many faces. He will be missed!
