David Irvin Kohler

KOHLER, DAVID IRVIN
Passed away at the age of 88 years and 27 days on 23 July 2003 at his home in Sacramento, California. He was born in Fairbury, Livingston County, Illinois on 26 June 1915. David served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring on 21 December 1962. He also worked for the U.S. Post Office in Aurora, Colorado for 11 years, retiring on 30 June 1974. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Kohler) Kohler; his 3 sons, David John Kohler of Fort Worth, Texas, Daniel Earl Baumgart (wife Evelyn) of Roanoke, Virginia and Robin Neil Baumgart (wife Glenda) of Granite Bay; his daughter Marlene Louanna Taylor of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren; his brother-in-law Harry Lanning Kohler (wife Rhoda) of Molalla, Oregon; and his cousin Catharine Soderquist (husband Russell) of Grand Junction, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Essie (Irwin) Kohler; his first wife, Elizabeth Ethel (Shogren) Kohler; and his son Edward Marlow Kohler. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Cypress Avenue Baptist Church, 5709 Cypress Avenue in Carmichael. Interment will be in Fort Morgan, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the memorial fund in care of Cypress Avenue Baptist Church or to Sutter Hospice, 2800 L Street, Suite 400, Sacramento, California 95816.
