To David's family:
I don't know if anyone is still looking at this site, but I wanted to write something anyway. We just found out about the loss of David a few weeks ago. We must have been to see David at his store just before he became ill, because I was going to bring in my jewelry for once-a-year inspection and cleaning. I was shocked.
He made special pieces for me, always had a smile on his big, gentle face and would let us pop in for any reason. To get something adjusted, to have a ring reset, to get a cleaning. Mostly I was the one who met with David, but my husband also met and liked him so much.
I can tell that my impression of him was correct when I read the loving notes written by those who knew him far better.
We are still very sad about his loss, it just doesn't seem fair. As he inspected a piece of jewelry he would always talk about his wife and his kids with a smile on his face.
He is just one of those people who you won't forget.
We are so sorry for your loss.
A long-time customer

life's too short sometimes. we all wish that we can give more and take less. I will never forget his warm welcoming smile, ever time i entered the room. I will always remeber the rabit and the hear story. No matter how many times he said it it never got old. He believed in everyone and trusted in everyone. He would never look at the mistake, but at the good the came out of the wrong choice we made.He loved everyone with all his heart and never gave up on any one, even if they may have let him down a time or two. God does eveything for a purpose, and sometimes we will never know that purpose till it comes too be our time to meet him again. But when we do and when we find that purpose we will be greatfull for the sacrafices made. We all will chearish the memmories that we have shared, all the adventures we have taken, and all the loving warmth we shared with each other. their will never be a nother man like him, but he will allways live on inside. so everyone be "DAVEstrong"
i love you Dave!

Chuck, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. My heart goes out to you. There is no bond greater than that between a parent and child. As you and I already know, the loss of someone so close is difficult to bear. Although no one can fully understand where you are right now unless they have walked the same path, I do share your grief. Dave is in a better place we know, and he and Shirley are up there sharing this great reunion. Roy is probably standing there cheering them on. Remember how Shirley and Roy always had such fun times together!

Chuck, Tom, Chip, and Andy, my deepest condolences, my thoughts and prayers are with you. As you return to life's routine, may you be comforted by your wonderful memories, feel the love and support of family and friends, and may God bless you during this sorrowful time.

Please accept.my deepest sympathies.

Love,
Barbara (Bobbie) Hendricks

I am so sad about the loss of my uncle Dave. It is hard to be in Texas so far away from my family at a time like this. My thoughts and prayers are with you everyday. I have many great memories as a little girl going to visit my dad in the summers. We spent so much time with our cousins, we had lots of sleepovers at there house and many family trips and reunions. I remember my uncle Dave as a very wonderful, kind man and I loved him very much. He will be missed by many people. I have comfort in knowing that he is with my grandma in heaven and we will all be together again one day.
Lots of Love, Jodi Mrizek

I remember David and your family with fondness from our grade school days at St. John's in Carmichael. Your family was always warm and gracious. Though two grades ahead of me, I remember David smiling and friendly, and a good friend to my brother Jim Llano. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

We are all extremely fortunate to have known you for even a moment, but for a lifetime. You have given family, friends and me a true gift by allowing us to share in your last days with you. You’ve made all of our lives wonderful because he was a part of them.
You’ve been a role model to all of us of how to be honorable, admirable and loving people, as well as a wonderful husband and father. We will carry your example with us, as you will be in our thoughts in everything we do, and hopefully we will all make you proud. We already know how proud you were to be a husband and father. Your beautiful jewelry pieces, which family and friends have accumulated over the years, will be worn in honor and memory of you, and in memory of you passion as a gemologist.
We now pray for your peace. You leave us with unending wonderful memories of love and family. You will be missed terribly now that you have moved on to a magnificent place, and we will look forward to seeing you again. We are thankful for you being part of our lives and for being who you were to all of us.

It has been many years since I have spent time with Dave, but I will truly cherish those high school years. Dave was a true friend. Then Dave showed up in Redding, which is when we (my wife June & I) met Evon. We had a few good times together before they left Redding. I have only spoken to him 3 times since, but he truly had a great outlook on life. He was always Mr. Peaceful. Until we meet again Dave, my best goes out to all of your loved ones and friends.

I work right down the hall from Dave and I'd stop in from time to time to say hello and talk a bit. I always enjoyed hearing about his basketball adventures and I learned more about rocks then I ever dreamed. He was a really nice guy and I'll miss him.

I'm saddened to hear of the passing of Dave. I've known Dave for many years in the Jewelry business. He truly had one of the most positive outlooks that anyone could have. Dave always took the extra moment to ask how things were going and talked about a variety of subjects when he would visit. He will be missed in the industry and our commumity.

Its hard to lose your best friend. Not hearing that "Hello Rob" every time I called or when we saw each other in person is going to be the toughest. You were able to bring out the best in people and your jewelry was your passion. Thank you again for the special watch. Every morning when I put it on it will be a reminder of what a great friend you were.

Safe travels
