Dean Wegner, 67, of Rockville died Wednesday,
Sept. 16, 2009, at his home in Rockville.
Dean L. W. Wegner was born Nov. 23, 1941, in Scribner to Erwin and Mabel (Wellman) Wegner. He attended Scribner Public Schools and graduated from Scribner High School in 1960. He married Barbara Kelly on Jan. 16, 1961, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Dean was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved drag racing.
Survivors include: his ex-wife, Barbara Wegner of Cozad; son, Tim Wegner of Omaha; daughter, Michelle Guthrie of Omaha; and special friend, Jane Weber of Rockville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darwin Wegner.
Cremation has been held and a Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Jane's Tavern in Rockville. Memorials are suggested to Duck's Unlimited.
Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City is in charge of arrangements.
