I never met Jeff but I'll never forget him......or his precious family that he left behind to mourn his tragic loss. The story of his senseless murder broke my heart when I heard it on the local news. I specifically recall one sweet memory his wife shared with the public and I wanted to share it again. When I saw this memorial today I instantly recalled it......it goes something close to this: Jeff would typically swing by the family home ( not sure if it was before shift or on break? ) I remember the story of his little boy being put to bed and how Jeff would back out of the driveway, on his way to patrol, and hit the lights on top of his cruiser and talk thru the loud speaker-C.B. to tell his little boy to "Get to bed!". I remember thinking, "That's so cool! What a lucky little boy and how proud of his dad he must be". Rest In Peace Officer Mitchell, you are not forgotten.
