Doris Sims

1926 - 2018

Beloved wife, mother, grand-mother and friend, passed away peacefully November 17, 2018 at the age of 92 years following a courageous battle with COPD. Born in Binger, Oklahoma. Preceded by her husband of 58 years, Joe Sims and her daughter, Pamela (Sims) Mecum. Also preceded by her parents Clifford & Mamie Walsh, and brothers Winfred & JR. Survived by Paula Goncalves (Alex), Perry Sims, grandchildren Amber, Joseph, Nicholas, Nathan, Brooke and Scott, and great grandchildren Jason, Aiden, Tyler and Hunter. Also survived by brother, Gene Walsh (Charlotte) and many nieces and nephews. Doris' greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed many happy times with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Mounted Posse, camping, playing cards and dominos, and watching her Sacramento Kings. Doris touched many lives and will live in our hearts forever. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, including her constant companion cat, Boots. A funeral service will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA on December 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be sent to The American Lung Association.
