Ernest James "Jim" Sims Jr., 74, of
Churchville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, on March 2, 2026. Born on October 29, 1951, in Philadelphia, Jim was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, uncle, and steadfast friend.
A graduate of Abington High School, Jim had a remarkable career. He began with the IUEC Local 5 Elevator Constructors as a mechanic for Otis Elevator and later founded three successful startups: Preferred Elevator, Capital Elevator, and Liberty Elevator. He eventually launched a real estate company called Suecor Properties and served as a proud board member of HAPCO. Through HAPCO, he collaborated with city agencies to secure funding and resources for programs aiding those in need. Jim was also actively involved in the Quakertown Farmers Market and the elevator safety board for Pennsylvania.
Jim cherished weekends with loved ones, enjoying activities like restoring classic cars, attending car shows, cooking new recipes, and dining out with family and friends. He also had a special place in his heart for dogs, giving many four-legged friends a loving home.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Corinne; children, Daniel (Colleen), and James (Michelle); grandchildren, James Jr. and Lily; brother, Keith, sister, Pamella (David); and his nieces and nephews; Jackie, Alexis (Chris), Morgan (Zach), Jonathan (Heather), Jarred, and great niece, Kaylee. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Bertha.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation will be held on Monday March 9 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Rd,
Richboro, PA, from 9:00am until the Funeral Mass at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Road,
Roslyn, PA 19001.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to causes close to Jim's heart, such as elevator safety education or local community support.
Jim's legacy of hard work, family devotion, integrity, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
