I'm Doug's cousin, Bernie Herpin. I lost touch with him, Derek, and Diane several years ago. If anyone reads this and can pass my email to them, please do: [email protected].

Talking to Diane for the first time in a few years, I found out about Doug's passing. It was so sad to hear. The few times I met Doug, he was so calm and gentle.... even while playing golf! To my friend Diane, I'm sending you big hugs.... Mary

Doug was a warm and welcoming friend to me. I was really sad to learn he passed. But he would want me to remember the good times at wooley creek and being roomates in sacramento and carmichael. Doug had a wonderful sense of adventure and i was lucky to have known him.

Diane,
Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of meeting your husband, but he sounded delightful. I'm thinking of you. Please let me know if you need anything.
Love,

Doug comes across immediately as a genuine, real and sincere man and it made doing business with him easy and fun. On my first business trip to Sacramento he took the trouble to drive all the way to Lake Tahoe and we had dinner with him and Diane at his home. I will never forget this warm hospitality which is pretty much second nature to Doug and Diane. He came to visit us in Malaysia with Diane not too many years ago and was relaxing under the big umbrella near the beach. We laugh at/with him when he told us he looked and felt like a lobster after a few hours cos he did not apply sun tan.....fond memories. I miss you Mr Brown but I will never forget you. Take care Diane and family!.......Jason Ong, Malaysia

One didn't need to spend a lot of time with Doug to see that he was an incredibly remarkable person. He could befriend everyone and anyone within a few moments of meeting and that he did. He will be missed but never forgotten. With sympathy to Diane and the family.
