Earlene Woodman Obituary

Earlene Anne (Nelson) Woodman of Carmichael, California passed from this earth on September 21, 2025. She was 81 years of age.

Earlene was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on March 28, 1944 to Gordon and Mary Nelson while her father was stationed there with the Army. She grew up in the small town of King City, California, graduating from King City Joint Union High School in 1962.

Following high school Earlene attended college at San Jose State and Sacramento State receiving a BA in Social Work.

Earlene married her love, Larry Woodman on January 30, 1966. Their daughter Nicole was born in 1970 and their son, Michael, was born in 1973.

Earlene was a caring soul, dedicated to the love of family, friends, and to those in need, evidenced by her long career in the field of social work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, daughter Nicole, and nephew Sean Lumsden.

She is survived by her son Michael and daughter-in-law Leslie Woodman, grandsons Joshua Bell and Logan Woodman; sister Mary Lou Lumsden and husband David; niece Rachel Jones and husband Marcus Jones; great-nephews Mason and Chance Jones; sister-in-law Mary McCabe; niece Marill Jacobson and great-nephews Kyle and Ryan Jacobson; and her companion Jim Tanaka.

A memorial service will be held at Carmichael Presbyterian Church, 5645 Marconi Ave, Carmichael at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025.
