Edward CREEHAN Obituary
Patrick
A.k.a. 'Purr-C', 'Dr. Cutie Pie', 'Bub', 'Pepys', 'Grampy', and 'Pepsi Pat', passed away Tuesday, August 13th, at his home in Fair Oaks, California, surrounded by family. He was 71 years old.
Born in 1941, in Virginia to mother Mary Rita Creehan and Edward Patrick Creehan, Patrick spent much of his youth in San Mateo, California. He attended Serra High School, followed by Santa Clara University, UCSF for medical school, and the University of Michigan for his residency in Dermatology. Patrick was also a flight surgeon in the Navy, stationed in Antarctica. During his time there, he would frequent New Zealand, which was where he was set up on a blind date with the woman who would become the love of his life. Patrick and his kiwi bride would later settle down in Fair Oaks, California where they shared a life filled with travel, art, food, drink, philanthropy, books, movies, family, and love.
Patrick is predeceased by his wife, Yvonne Creehan. He is survived by his son, Mark Rea; daughters, Alexandra Creehan and Tara Creehan; son-in-law, Charles Sommer; grandchildren, Colin, Jennifer, and Indira; sister, Mary Richardon; brother, Dennis Creehan; brother-in-law, Stan Leven; sister-in-law, Liz Gross; cousin, Rob Hutchinson; honorary daughter Rhonda Pope, many loving nieces and nephews; cats, Draupadi and Sita; and dog, Emmy Lou.
A graveside memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Fair Oaks Cemetery at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to his favorite organizations: Jepson Herbarium, Doctors Without Borders, or The Gorgas Course in Tropical Medicine. Patrick would also appreciate your patronage of independent bookstores.

I'm so very sorry and shocked to hear of Dr. Creehan's passing. He was a treasure. I was his patient. He was too young to die. What caused his death? My heart goes out to his family. We need more doctors like him!

I only had known Doctor Creehan a few years but he was a very kind caring doctor who cared about my well being and I will really miss him. Was very saddened to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Stan and I were just informed of Dr. Creehan's passing today. It is such a shock and we feel for his entire family. We were not patients very long, however, felt so much kinship with him. He will truly be missed.

I just learned of Dr Creehans passing. I am very sorry for the loss. I had finally found a doctor that cared enough to find out more about my skin. I was a more than a little rattled when I told me primary today that I was scheduled to see Dr. Creehan next week and she was the one who told me of his passing. I wish the Creehan family peace and love for such a horrible loss.

As a teenager in the mid 70's I saw Dr. Creehan for an acute skin condition. A compassionate and caring man he provided treatment with care and understanding that impacted me in such a profund and good way. I found out of his passing because I was looking him up to take my teenage son to be treated by him. He made a difference in my life! Rest in peace and may God bless his family!

I have just learned the news of Pat's death. We were colleagues at Fort Sutter since the mid 1980s, and he took care of my dermatologic conditions. I knew Yvonne and his girls; so sorry about his passing. He was a very compassionate and caring physician.

I am saddened to hear of the loss of Dr. Pat Creehan, a colleague of mine where we both worked at the Medical Clinic of Sacramento for a short time. We only worked together for a few years before we both left the Medical Clinic, he for private practice, and I for Kaiser Permanente. I remember his office was tastefully decorated with antiques and artworks. I will miss his friendly and engaging personality.

A personality is no more among us. As grandmother (oma) van Indira has Patrick opened-his house for the family from the Netherlands. His house has been our home away from home.
Patrick, you took us in your family as being your own family. We are great full for that and we always enjoyed our staying at your house. What am I 2 do now? I have depended on u to depend on me, but now ur spirit is set free...
U became a crutch of freedom to escape my madness, and now ur absence only brings sadness...
When my issues were too much to bare, I could deal with urz and my sanity u would spare...
No one could ever know just how special u were to me, my boss, then my papa and someone I wished I could be...
Ur heart so pure, ur genuine words, and a soul of an angel...through ur eyes u could still see...
I feel as I am gonna crazy without u needing me...ur schedule, ur deposits, and damn insurance companies dodging ur fees...
But for u I could save the day, and that made me complete, when my own affairs were so obsolete...u were my escape from my misery, to go see pepsi pat and deal with things that were solvable, unlike my stuff that seemed impossible.
I feel so lost, I wish I could trade this pain at any cost!
Thank u creator for putting him in my path and part of my life, I just wish I could have had a little more time... — feeling sad.
