Edward FOGARTY Obituary

FOGARTY, Edward Thomas
July 22, 1931 to June 22, 2013
Ed Fogarty is a much-loved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He touched many lives with his positive nature and engaging personality. His theme in life was to "Make it Fun" for himself and for everyone who entered his life. He lived by that creed for more than 81 years.

Ed could easily start conversations with strangers and leave them with smiles on their faces - making their day a better one. He genuinely loved and cared for the people he called friends, and adopted many of them as family members. Most of all, family was everything to Ed. He loved them deeply and they loved him right back. We have lost a wonderful person who lovingly touched our lives.

He will be missed by his wife Anna Fogarty, his sister and brother-in-law Kittiarlene 'Kitti' and Jim Foley, brother George Van Valkenberg, sisters-in-law Marie Vezza and Marianne Miller, brother-in-law Bob Vezza, his sons Dave Fogarty and Scott Fogarty and daughter Michelle Wall, daughters-in-law Felicity Bensch and Terri Fogarty and his son-in-law Gary Wall. His grandchildren Shawn Fogarty, Nick Fogarty, Lucas Fogarty, Tim Wall, Max Fogarty, Caitlin Fogarty and Parker Wall will sorely miss him. He also will be missed by Ann's family whom he embraced as his own children and grandchildren including Jim Brown, Lynda Wulfekuhler, Rick Brown, Brittany Wulfekuhler, Kris Wulfekuhler, Alicia Brown and Rachel Brown. Katrina and Dallas Guerrero, and the many other important members of his extended family will miss him too.

Ed was preceded in death by his first wife Frances Fogarty.

Ed was proud to have served his country as a Sergeant in the US Air Force where he fought in the Korean War. He was also proud of his work as an engineer for Pacific Telephone. But he truly loved to serve his community as a Kiwanian, and a leader and co-founder of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Services will be held at 11am on Saturday June 29 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church which is located at 4701 Grove Street, Rocklin, CA 95677.

To Ed's family: I'll be thinking of you as you have the service tomorrow, knowing you are in the church where he did so much woodworking for the glory of God. Ed truly knew when to work and when to play, and I'm proud to have been a friend from his days in Chico. May happy memories help to sustain all of us. With love to all, and especially to David, Michelle, Scott, and their families,
