Eric Brian Stromme

STROMME, Eric Brian
Passed away in Sitka, Alaska, on June 19, 2004 at the age of 32. He was born Jan 27, 1972 and raised in Sacramento. A student at Rio Americano High School, he graduated from Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka in 1996. He married Elizabeth Yanik from Sitka on June 11, 2004. His father, James Eric Stromme, preceded Eric in death. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Kathy Stromme of Sacramento, sister and brother-in law Lisa Stromme Rine and Tim Rine of McKinleyville, Calif., grandmother Vivian Stone of Gold River, aunts and uncles Bruce Dancis and Karen Dean-Dancis of Orangevale, Rob and Sally Stone of Reno, David and Karen Stromme of Washington, and cousins Alexis Dean, Nick Dean and Lily Dancis of Orangevale, Laurel Stromme of Washington; J.M. Stone of Reno; and Ashley York of Colorado. Eric's great passion was being outdoors, where he enjoyed kayaking, hiking, climbing, fishing and camping. He owned Baidarka Boats in Sitka, which sold and rented ocean kayaking equipment and conducted guided tours of the Sitka waterways. He took an active part in the community of Sitka and was a member Sitka's Parks and Recreation Committee. Eric was always surrounded by great friends in Sitka and in Sacramento and will be greatly missed by all. He was a passionately creative person in all of his endeavors. A celebration of his life through a gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 3 p.m. at 7904 Ridgemont Drive in Fair Oaks.
