Mr. Ernest Black was always graceful, a few among many contractors in the Sacramento area who lived up to quality and honesty in his work. He lived the life of what I consider to be a real man and a good person to respect and to question at seeking knowledge. We have lost a person with wisdom and knowledge of history, years past of which some of us are too young to know, and many of us either have forgotten, or take for granted, the turmoil of sweat and abuse one went through to become a Black contractor, and survive at making a descent living. Del Paso Heights needs more men such as Mr. Ernest Black. We have lost another Black contractor in a neighborhood that is crying, seeking someone with knowledge to share in a community of a dying breed. Mr. Black, may God take you into his loving arms and know that so many of us are grateful to have spent time with you on this earthly planet. We need more men like you. We miss you. My thought and prayers are with you. Mr. Black lived a full life. Rejoice in knowing he is resting with our heavenly Father.

Happy Birthday Daddy. We thought we'd be celebrating your birthday today, instead we are preparing for your home going celebration. While we miss you, we know there is no greater place than in the arms of Jesus. Rest in peace Daddy, we'll take care of Mom for you.
