Gene will always be with us, in our harts. His kindness will forever be known to all who meet him. We love him and he will be just around the bend out of sight, until we meet again.

We thank God to have had Gene as a neighbor. Now, there is an empty spot. It was alwlays a pleasure to look out the front window and see Gene and Luella. Many times we would go outside just to talk with them. I remember one time when I went out front to talk and forgot a pan was on the stove. The smoke alarm went off. Everyone was laughing as I ran back inside. I put the pan aside, cleared the smoke and went back outside to continue our conversation. Gene was like a father and a grandfather to our family. He was always pleasant and friendly. He never hesitated to assist if we needed some help. Our cat, Einstein, misses him, also. He was always at Gene's side when he was working in the yard.

Mr. Nelson will be greatly missed. I will remember him for his constant cheerful smile, the great neighbor he always was and his yard sale bargains. My thoughts and prayers are with the Nelson Family.

Gene will always remain in my memory as one of the most intelligent and sincere people I have ever met. He has always been willing to help his friends and family, and all of his friends think very highly of him, and he has the respect of all.
