COUPE, EUNICE VIVIAN
In Roseville, CA, April 6, 2002, at age 89. Teacher, scholar, authoress, athlete, kind and gentle person, wise and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Eunice is survived by her four children, Linda C. Lanterman of Lake of the Pines, Dennis F. Coupe of Granite Bay, Jeffrey W. Coupe of Granite Bay, and Dean R. Born Eunice Fitch in Santa Clara County and raised in Stockton, she held a BA and MA from University of Pacific, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She taught at eight high schools, including San Juan, Tracy and Westmoor and Serramonte in Daly City. Eunice was married for sixty-five years to Walter H. Coupe, who died last year and with who she co-authored a children's book, "Who's Who in the Zoo". She played piano and had a lovely singing voice. She was active in school theater and taught Spanish, French and several other subjects. Upon retirement from teaching, she won Usta Sectional and National Rankings in Senior Tennis. Eunice lived in Los Altos Hills for thirty-three years, prior to moving to Roseville in 1998. Her children and grandchildren will deeply miss her companionship and loving concern, her good grace and counsel, her insight and generosity. May Angels bear her soul to Heaven.
