Evole Maria Talini

1923 - 2018

Evole Maria Talini, age 94, passed away while surrounded by her family on February 16, 2018, in Sacramento at Mercy General Hospital. Evole was born October 29, 1923 in Valgiano, Lucca, Italy, the daughter of Alberto Stefani and Adele Bambini Stefani. Evole was raised in Valgiano, Lucca, Italy where she met and married the love of her life Pietro Luigi Talini and had their eldest son, Luigi Talini. After the war, Pietro sent Evole and 6 month old Luigi to bravely immigrate to the United States to join her parents in Stockton California while he stayed behind to help and insure the safety and well-being of his family remaining in Italy. In 1948, Pietro joined them where soon after they had their second son, Alfredo Talini. In 1976, Pietro established Talini's Nursery in Sacramento. Evole became an integral part in making the Talini's Nursery the beautiful place it is today. Evole was a devout Catholic, and a parishioner of St. Mary's Church for over 40 years. Evole's greatest passion in life was loving her family. She expressed her immense love through her unforgettable cooking. She took great pride in bringing family and friends together at her table where she lovingly prepared elegant, special meals from the heart. Evole's love, spirit and family traditions will be carried on by her surviving family. She is survived by her sons, Luigi and Alfredo Talini; her two granddaughters, Luciana Talini Johnson and Gina Talini; two brothers, Willie and Graziano Stefani; and great-granddaughters, Giuliana and Nina Johnson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5-7pm with a rosary at 7pm at Nicoletti, Culjis and Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA, 95819. The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 22 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 1333 58th Street, Sacramento, CA, 95819. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
