Frida Dietz Obituary

DIETZ, Frida Maria
Aged 96 years, dearly cherished mother and homemaker, died at home on September 19, 2004. She is survived by her daughter Heidi Elsie Dietz. Frida was born on March 13, 1908, to the late Otto and Friederike Weller in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany and grew up in a family of two brothers and one sister. In the 1920s, she emigrated to America and then lived in Philadelphia and married Otto W. Dietz, who preceded her in death in 1981. They both came to California around 1930, where Otto engaged in real estate development. They lived mainly in the Bay Area and the Mother Lode before settling down in Fair Oaks. Frida was a devoted and companionable mother and an active, accomplished homemaker, who excelled as a cook and seamstress. She had a fine soprano singing voice. Frida especially enjoyed her family, her German-born Kaffeeklatsch girlfriends, and her beloved cat, Buby, who sat on her lap while she keenly watched game shows. She will be greatly missed. Friends are welcome for visitation Sunday, Sept 26, 2004, 12:00 - 4:00 pm and are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service Monday, Sept 27, 2004 at 2:00pm both at MOUNT VERNON MORTUARY, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oak, CA. Interment, Mount Vernon Memorial Park.
