Sacramento, California - Zenda Gail Swanson, age 81, of Sacramento, California passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 due to complications from sepsis. Gail was born September 20, 1939 in Chehalis, Washington to the late Julian and Melba (Evans) Middleton. She was the oldest of three daughters. During Gail's childhood, her family moved to Centralia, Washington where she eventually met and married her high-school sweetheart, Gerald Swanson, in 1958. In 1962, Gerald's position as a dentist in the Air Force brought them to McClellan AFB in Sacramento. They remained in Sacramento the rest of their lives, where Gail became a devoted member of El Camino Baptist Church. Gail is survived by her son, Scott Swanson; son, Eric Swanson; daughter-in-law, Katie Swanson; daughter, Stacey Snyder; son-in-law, Scott Snyder; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Gail was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Gerald Swanson, on December 28, 2012.
