Gary Bartholomew Obituary

Gary passed away at UC Davis Medical Center on Thursday June 29, 2017 with his wife of 58 years and his sons at his side. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Sharon, and loving sons, Brian (Karen), and, Steven (Patti), and granddaughter Angela. He is also survived by his brother Dan Bartholomew (Karyl), along with many nieces and nephews. Gary was born in Moab, Utah. He attended Tahoe Elementary School, Stanford Middle School, Sacramento High School, and graduated from McClatchy High School in 1957. After time with the US Coast Guard, he returned to Sacramento to join his mother to be creative in her flower shop. After starting his family, he went to work for the Procter and Gamble Mfg. Company, retiring after nearly 30 years. From a very young age Gary loved to fish for bass, salmon, steelhead, and stripers. He built custom fishing rods and fishing lures. He also like the game of golf. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Donald and Minnie Marie Bartholomew, aunts, and uncles. Friends and family are invited to attend a crypt side burial at East Lawn 43rd & Folsom Blvd on Wednesday July 12 at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Alzheimer's Disease Research.
