George David MacBain

1929 - 2018

Born December 13, 1929 in Southampton, Pennsylvania and passed December 18, 2017 in Auburn, CA. George grew up in a large family in Pennsylvania. In High School he excelled at both basketball and baseball. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. He then entered the civilian work force and worked in the Jet Engine Test Cells. He played Triple A Baseball, was an excellent Coach and was a founding father of the Highland Little League. He later moved to Sacramento where he managed the A-10 Aircraft Modification Program at McClellan AFB. He loved his family, sports, fishing, and big band music. He is survived by his wife Janis, son Randy, brother Richard, grand-daughter Haley, plus a large extended family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Private Services were held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California on January 25, 2018
