Gertrude Mitchell Obituary
Jenkins
Born May 30, 1931, in Paterson, NJ, to the late Andrew and Tharsie Pharr Jenkins, went on to be with the Lord on March 10, 2005. She is survived by her loving husband, Willie Mitchell; daughter Sonja Gaines (Amos) of Ft. Worth, TX, son Johnnie Mitchell (Ayanna) of Elk Grove, CA, siblings Mary Fagan, Stanley Jenkins, Jesse Jenkins and eight wonderful grandchildren. She touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. Many will miss her. A tribute to celebrate her life will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3565 9th Ave., Sacramento, CA 95817, on Thursday, March 17, at 11:00 AM. Remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association www.diabetes.org or the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance www.ovariancancer.org.

God bless Miss Gert. I am a longtime friend of the family and she and her husband always me feel like a family member whenever I was in their presence. My prayers go out to Johnny and their children and the entire family.
