Gregory Mendenhall Obituary

Gregory Mendenhall
June 29, 1988 - March 27, 2022
Elk Grove, California - Gregory "Greg" Tayler Mendenhall, 33, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 27, 2022. Born on June 29, 1988 in Sacramento and raised in Elk Grove, CA, Greg graduated from Elk Grove High School in 2006. In recent years, he split his time between Elk Grove and La Pine, OR. He enjoyed outdoor activities like fishing and hiking, spending time with family and friends either in person or online, cooking, skipping work, and generally living his life to the fullest. He lit up any room he entered with his humor, quick wit and extensive knowledge on just about any topic imaginable. Greg is survived by his parents Mark and Phyllis, sisters Jessica (Ryan) Herrera and Stephanie, niece Brinlee Herrera, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends he picked up along the way in person and online. Memorial details will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends and family to consider making a donation in Greg's honor to one of the causes he held close to his heart. Greg was blessing to all of us. He'd always have your back if needed. No matter how big of an episode I would have, he'd be the only one to twist it around and make me feel better after.
I'm so lucky to have met you, even if it was only online.
You helped me get through some bad times, because you were a star. You made the damn Sun look dull.

We'll always miss you.

Never gonna finna meet another dude like him, he was more than a friend he was more like a brother that I didn't have the chance to meet. I will always remember the laughs we had. Love you Greg.

Gregory was truly one in a million. If you knew him, you were blessed. Before Gregory, I never met anyone who could make every person feel like the most important and valued person in the room(or chat room) like he could. My deepest condolences to the family and anyone who loved Gregory. Til we meet again, my friend!

Greg was a wonderful person and friend. He encouraged many and always knew what to say in order to cheer someone up. He had the biggest heart of gold, and will forever be someone I look up to. Words cannot describe how dull this world has become with the loss of such an amazing soul. I'll forever treasure the memories of us floating down the river, and him telling heartfelt stories about his family and the cabin that he loved so dearly. He truly loved with everything he had, and I would like to extend the deepest condolences to his friends and family. I love ya, Greggy. Until we meet again.

My condolences to everyone that knew greg during this devastating time. Greg was one of the funniest people ive ever met, and he was such a caring friend who would do anything to make you smile or help in any way. He was part of an online group that he was very involved in, hosting group meet ups and housing and feeding our friends multiple times. He was one of my best friends and i will miss him forever. Much love to you all.
