RODRIGUEZ, Sr., Hector A.
Born on July 19, 1939 in Aguascalientes, Mexico, passed into the Lord's hands on May 13, 2012, in Sacramento, CA surrounded by his loving family. Hector is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lupe, his daughters Blanca and Leticia and son, Hector Jr. and his grandchildren Amariani, Diego, Veronica and Victor, who he helped raise. He will be missed by all his family and especially by the grandchildren and great-grandchildren that were central in his life: Marissa, Adriana Victor Jr., Anisia, Keana, Anthony, Layah, and Giovanni.

Hector came to the US at the early age of 19 and established roots in Sacramento, where he worked in the trucking and steel foundry industries and raised a family. He was very involved in Our Lady of Guadalupe church activities, where he was often able to share his dancing attributes at the fundraising dances he helped host. He had a passion for travel and loved to vacation in Mexico several times a year, especially in beach resort areas. His last trip to Mexico was to Ensenada to eat live lobster. He enjoyed good food and great company and enjoyed spending most of his time with family. He was an ardent lover of cars and their inner workings and was called upon often by many to provide advice on repairing these. He loved all sports and loved watching championship boxing matches, which normally turned into a gathering of family and friends.

Hector lived a beautiful life until stricken by cancer; he fought a tremendous battle for seven years with the assistance of his wife, daughter Blanca and son-in-law, Ricardo. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at George L. Klumpp, Chapel of Flowers, 2691 Riverside Ave., Sacramento, CA. Viewing and Vigil will be from 3 PM to 6 PM, with a rosary to follow. A Catholic mass will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7584 Center Parkway, Sacramento at 10:00 AM followed by a Reception to honor his life.
