Henry Yee Obituary


YEE, Henry D.
Oct. 1, 1920-Jan. 24, 2007 Henry D. Yee, of Bend, died Wednesday of natural causes. He was 86. Mr. Yee was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Detroit to Jackson and Ongshee (Shee) Yee. He married Daisy Yee on March 20, 1955, in Carson City, Nev. Mr. Yee served in the U.S. Army in the 333rd Infantry and 84th Division during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Army Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged as a Technician Third Grade Sergeant. He was a Chinese herbalist and retired in 2002. He enjoyed camping and travel. Survivors include two sons, Dorian, of Portland, and Derwin, of Roseburg; two daughters, Deanna Yee-Chu, of San Francisco, and Della Yee-Petrus, of Bend; three sisters, Helen Wong, of Sacramento, Calif., Minnie Woo, of San Francisco, and Rose Mah, of Sacramento; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers. Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Yee saved a lot of people. Many years ago, a friend of mine with heart trouble couldn't be helped by regular doctors. But Dr. Yee cured him by prescribing the foxglove plant. Years later, doctors discovered digitallis, which is in the foxglove plant.
