Herb Robinson

1946 - 2017

Long time Roseville resident Herb Robinson passed away peacefully in his home in Roseville from COPD on July 7, 2017 at the age of 71. Born April 25, 1946 he followed his passion after graduating from Roseville High School in 1964. Early in his career he was known for his ambition and building creativity. After becoming a General Contractor he began making his mark in Northern California proudly building homes, shopping centers and convenience stores in Roseville and the surrounding areas. In the 80's he became the proprietor of Herb Robinson Supplies and Welding Co. also known as Ugly Trucks on Church St. He built over 40 Food and Liquor stores from the bay area to Sacramento and won awards for the Vintage III subdivisions in Benicia. Herb received an honorable discharge from the United States Navy in 1965 always patriotic he often displayed a 14 foot American flag on his job sites. Later in his career he would build and repair cabins and install snow tunnels and metal roofs in the Serene Lakes area and even had commercial projects in Maui. His employees were like his family and he enjoyed sharing his craft. In his spare time Herb enjoyed fishing at Loch Leven Lodge in Truckee and working in his back yard and garage. Building was Herb's life. He was a kind, loving, trusting, hard-working man. To him, a hand shake was as good as a contract. He will be greatly missed. No more pain. He leaves behind his soul mate, companion, & friend for the past 25 years Julie Olsen Sweeny, his cat Herman, step children Tamara and Bryan (Brenda), sister Penny (Don), brother, Patrick who preceded him in death, sons Blake and Trevor, four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Remember Robinson: "Carpenters never die, they just fade away." There will be no services per his request. Loving appreciation to my daughter Tamara, son Bryan, and his wife Brenda for their help and love they gave to my wonderful "Mr. Robinson" during his illness.
