Following retirement, Herb and Rosemary moved to Graeagle, CA, where they enjoyed many rounds of golf, memorable family gatherings, winters in Arizona and many cruises. Rosemary: Herbert and I graduated together from McClatchy and I lost contact with Herbert after his graduation from Sac State. I was fortunate (after 60+ years) to vist with Herbert months ago at a South Side Improvement Club Meeting where we discussed old times. We also discussed how you and I worked together at Sac State when it was located on the Sac. Jr. College campus in the 1950s. Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.

I worked with Herb both in the patrol Division and later in the Detective Division (off. of Investigations). Herb was always a diligent, good natured guy and easy to work with. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Working in the detective division with Herb was an honor, as he was a hard working, happy gentleman who always wore a smile and had a kind word. His temperment was perfect indeed.
