Sacramento, California - Our loving matriarch Herminia Almendarez was welcomed into the gates of heaven on March 2, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Born on June 4, 1927 in San Ignacio, Texas, to Pedro and Guadalupe Villegas. Proceeded in death by her parents, siblings, daughter Janie Rodriguez and son-in-law Anthony Gentile Jr. whom she is now reunited with.
She was a proud Texana and moved to California in 1966. She is survived by her children: Mario Almendarez (Rosa), Mary Lopez (Jesse), Lupe Zuniga (Javier), Norma Almendarez, Abel Almendarez (Nora), Alberna Almendariz and Patty Gentile; son-in-law Benny Rodriguez; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Although she was tiny in stature she had a huge heart of gold and was an independent, graceful woman of God with an everlasting strength and devotion to her Catholic faith. She was adored by the family she built and dedicated her life to.
Visitation and Rosary-Thursday, March 17, 2022, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elk Grove, CA. Funeral-March 18, 2022,1:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elk Grove, CA .Interment-Immediately following at Sierra View Memorial Park, Olivehurst, CA.

My Tia was my mother's younger sister, My mother Cruz villegas. The last time i saw my tia Mine was a renunion 2009 in Lubbock Tx. Mi tia is up in heaven with my n mother n the rest of the villegas. Love .Israel villegas. I only remember Marin. Take good care Primo.

My little Mama,
I was blessed to have had you by my side for 54 loving years. We made the most beautiful memories together. I was always your keeper and you mine You lived 94 wonderful years surrounded by your family and you fought every day to spend just one more day with us. Those days won´t go in vain.
