Sacramento, California - Hilda Deus, beloved sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law. sister-in-law, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on October 28, 2024. She was born in Berkely, Ca by a mid-wife. She spent the majority of her childhood on a ranch in Stockton, Ca. As a teenager she learned to play piano and at 16 went to work at a grocery store and Post Office in the Holt, CA. She sorted the mail and placed it on the hook by the side of the railroad track so the train could pick it up without even stopping. Only the Holt, CA sign and the train tracks remain. She married Anthony (Tony) Deus on November 14th, 1948 in Stockton, Ca. After they married, they moved in with Tony's parents at the farm and dairy in Hilmar, Ca. Tony worked at the farm until 1950 when they moved to Rio Dell, Ca to drive a logging truck for Pacific Lumber Company. In 1951 son Tony was born, in 1953 Laurie and then Shirley in 1955. In 1957 they moved to West Sacramento, where Anthony (Tony) drove truck for Clark Trucking. Hilda enjoyed being a housewife for 6 children. Her hobbies were bowling, bunco, cards, dominos and square dancing. In 1995 they moved to Sun City in Roseville. Tony passed away in March of 1999. Hilda continued to live in her home in Sun City and enjoyed yoga, water aerobics and traveling the globe for 20 years. In 2018, she moved in with her daughter, Bobbie and son-in-law Dennis in Plumas Lake, CA. She lived with them for 4 years until she moved to Sacramento. She is survived by her brother, Frank and Pauline, of Eugene, OR, sister Mary of Santa Cruz, Sister-in-law Mary of Lodi and Sister-in-law Gloria Harrington of West Sacramento. She had 6 children beginning with son, Tony and Kristen, daughter, Laurie, (deceased), daughter, Shirley, daughter Natalie Jean (deceased), daughter, Ann and Dan, daughter, Bobbie and Dennis. Hilda bragged of 9 grandchildren, Kim and Chris of Papillion, NE, Chris of Sacramento, Jessica in Georgia, Tony and Vanessa of Rocklin, Chad in Australia, Alycia and Mike in West Sacramento, Tyler in Somerset, CA, Brandon of Merced, and Noelle and Eric in Sacramento. She also has 12 great-grandchildren living in Nebraska, Georgia, Rocklin, Australia, West Sacramento, Forbes Town, CA and Yuba City. She lived in the West Sacramento, for 38 years attending Our Lady of Grace Church and in 1995 attended St. Clare Church in Roseville for 29 years. She lived a total of 67 years in northern CA.

Funeral Rosary is at 9:30am at St Clare's Church, 1950 Junction Blvd. Roseville, CA, followed by Mass at 10:30am and then reception. Our mother was a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, sponsoring a child, on a monthly basis, so in lieu of flowers you can make a memorial donation in her memory by calling 1-800-822-6344 - Hilda Deus, ID#46695888.

Aunt Hilda and uncle Tony loved to square dance and were always loving life. I loved the bright costumes they wore and how much fun they made.

Never had the chance to me her,but I did get to know her grandson Tony
If she was anything like him the she herself was an outstanding person.
