Iris Taylor Obituary

Iris Ann Taylor , 77, died at home peacefully on November 25, 2013. Iris was a fighter and full of life. She battled numerous major illnesses over the past few years, while never giving up and never complaining. She always maintained a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future. Through her many ailments, surgeries and treatments she continued to be a dedicated and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She was born in England on October 19, 1936, raised in London and Worthing and after marrying her loving husband Don P. Taylor, relocated to North Highlands Ca. She worked at McClellan AFB for over 25 years prior to her retirement as a civil servant. Filled with compassion and interest in others, Iris made friends easily and charmed all who got the chance to meet her. After retirement she worked with Meals on Wheels and made family, friends, and assisting others a priority. Iris loved spending time visiting with her dearest friends, shopping, eating at her favorite places, being silly, and sharing laughs. Iris was an avid reader and when she was limited in her mobility she loved watching TV, and spending time on her laptop always with a cup of tea and some snacks nearby. She was incredibly clever, wise, and good with numbers. Computer puzzle games and word games were her passion. She mastered them all! Iris was a prideful member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 4647. She spent many Sunday mornings having breakfast with her friends at the "V" and had memorable New Years Eve celebrations with them as well. As a Grandma and Mother, Iris gave everything. Most importantly she loved unconditionally always encouraging her grandchildren to follow their dreams. Preceded in death by her husband, Don P. Taylor, Iris is survived by her daughter and son in law Tracy and Rick Vredenburg, her grandsons Vincent and Donovan Vredenburg, and her sister Janet Sanders. Raise a cup of tea for Iris and celebrate her memory, the world is a little less vibrant without her. In lieu of flowers, donations made to The American Heart Association or Sacramento Loaves and Fishes would be appreciated. Iris's life will will be celebrated in a service at VFW Post 4647 in Antelope, CA on December 5th at 2:00pm.

You are missed.

December 4, 2013

Tracy: My heart aches with and for you. I love you, my very special friend. I am so sorry your mom is gone- but moms never really leave us. They are embedded in our very being, in the depths of our heart and souls. They gave us life and breath through and with us.
All my love,
Chris
