Isabel CRANE Obituary

CRANE, Isabel Rosalie
Daughter of Vera (Alpers) Dunlap and Dudley Dunlap, born in Grass Valley on Sept. 7, 1916, died of natural causes on Oct. 15, 2010. She is survived by daughter Linda Yuppa (Donald); son Stephen Crane (Gaylen); and sister Barbara Azzopardi. Grandmother of Elizabeth (Rohn), Melissa, Dawn, Christina and nine great-grandchildren. Isabel was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George; son Martin; sisters, Lucille and Norma; brothers, Max, Roy, and Lloyd; and grandson Terry. Isabel graduated valedictorian from Nevada High School and then furthered her education in business school before moving to Sacramento and going to work for the State of California where she met and married George. She then devoted herself to caring and raising her loving family. When her children were grown, she returned to work part time in the cafeteria for various schools in the Sacramento area. She and George retired in 1971 and moved back to live happily in Grass Valley for many wonderful years. A private celebration of her life will be held Nov. 13 in Nevada City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospice, 11815 Education Street, Auburn. Arrangements in the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.

My grandma crane was a very sweet woman. She loved long walks with her grandchildren and her many doggie companions. I have fond memories of being with her and my grandpa George in Grass Valley. I love you grandma and I know you are in heaven hugging and kissing your grandson Terry. Love from your Grandaughter Dawn.
