Jean Briggs

1947 - 2025

Jean Charlene Briggs, Born August 23, 1947, in Seattle, WA to John and Ruth Armentrout, died on October 1, 2025 with family by her side in Riverside, CA. A loving wife of 40 years to Wellan, mother to Wendy (Marty) and Jonathan (Amy), stepmother to Dee (Randy) and grandmother to Marjorie and Emily. Jean graduated from San Bernardino H.S. in 1964, and received her BA degree and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Chico State College. Jean was a teacher in Maryland and in Sacramento for more than 25 years. She also volunteered in Wendy, Jonathan and Marjorie's classrooms and schools as well as with Marjorie's Girl Scout Troop. She loved to travel and was active in her community, taking on leadership and supportive roles. Jean had a kind heart and a generous spirit. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at 2 p.m. in the Community Center at Westmont Village in Riverside.
