HIPP, Jeanette M.
Born September 24, 1916. Entered into rest February 8, 2009. Jeanette was born in Douglas, North Dakota. She came from a large family of three sisters and four brothers, all of whom preceded her in death. She attended grade and high school in Edgeley, North Dakota, and attended Ellendale State Normal and Industrial School, earning a teaching certificate. She continued her education at the University of Montana and California State University, Sacramento. She worked as an elementary school teacher, part-time librarian, credit manager of a department store and, most importantly, as a homemaker. She met and married her husband, Sebastian, while on vacation in Sacramento. They were married 53 years and lived in the Sacramento and surrounding areas during their marriage. Survived by five daughters, Karen Seydel, Joann Hipp, Kathy Lawrence, Lori Einhorn, Carolyn Kammerer, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Some of her greatest pleasures in life were the years spent with her family and friends at Lake Tahoe, Palm Desert and the 7-H Ranch in Wilton. Her favorite activities included golfing, antique collecting and refinishing, baking, cooking, sewing, and demonstrating her baking skills at the California State Fair. She traveled to the Bahamas and Europe, and enjoyed big band and classical music. Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Andrews & Greilich, 3939 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, CA 95820.
