ROGERS, Jr., JEROME
ALPHONSE
Born February 4, 1920 in Mobile, Alabama to Jerome Alphonse and LeGrand McCrae Rogers. He departed this life on December 16, 2003. Mr. Rogers served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was Chief Stewart of his ship which was torpedoed twice. After moving to Sacramento, he worked in the insurance industry and for the former Sacramento Inn. He was also a member of the Elks Capital City Lodge #1147 where he served as Treasurer for many years. He is survived by his sons, Jerome Alphonse Rogers III and Michael Rogers of Sacramento, CA. A daughter, Amanda Mitchell Richardson of Pensacola, Fl., a sister Ruth R. Anderson of Charlotte, NC. and a brother LeGrand Rogers of Sacramento, CA. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the Thompson Rose Chapel, 3601 5th Avenue, Sacramento, California.
