I just happened to look up Dr. Hildebrand after all these many years. He had been my best doctor in my life, so I wanted to see what he was up to. I had no idea that he had passed. He worked out in the same gym as me, and when I cut my head on the sprinklers in the sauna, he took me to his nearby office - same parking lot, and put stitches in my head. He didn't charge me a dime! I know that he had a great big heart, and I am sorry that he had passed on, but he lives in my memory, and I'm sure, many others have fond memories of Dr. Hildebrand as well.

Doctor Jack was my primary care physician for many years. He was a very special guy whose caring and sincerity were the equal of his excellent clinical skills. He was an "old school" doctor in the best sense of that characterization, a model that other physicians would do well to emulate. I and others whose lives he touched will miss him greatly.

Dear Hildebrand Family: I'm so very sorry to hear of Jack's death.
Even tho death is only a transition from one form of consciousness to another, for you and for me it is a loss. Years ago at Notre Dame, Jack & I prepared for organic chemistry exams together and when my wife & I were living in Switzerrland and Jack was in Belgium he came down to visit--perhaps in a Deux cheveaux (can't remember for sure).
When he stopped by my house in South Bend at the last ND class reuion he attended, he was traveling with his own bicycle so he could ride in the area!
May God bless you all. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

Dear Beatrice,
I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Doctor Jack Hildebrand, Muganga jack.
I met "Muganga Jack" through the Alliance Francaise when I was doing my LL.M at McGeorge School of Law. We connected spontaneously. Hildebrand family invited me to their home one weekend. Muganga told me about his life in Africa in Congo DRC where I was born. I was deeply impressed by his devotion, generosity and kindness to people. We will surely miss him.

It is impossible to list all that Jack did for the Alliance Française, in part because he did so much, but also because so much that he did was self-effacing and unseen by most. He coupled his enormous dedication and great heart with a sharp and ready wit - he is irreplaceable, but will live on in our memories.

Dear Hildebrand Family,
I remember the kindness and thoughtfulness of Dr. Hildebrand back in the 70's when my son's played soccer in Elk Grove. But, I especially remember a Saturday afternoon when one of my sons had an accident, Dr. Hildebrand met us at his office to stitch up my son's lip. This was only one of the many emergency calls he received from our family with growing, active boys. There is no doubt I wasn't the only Mom who called for help, knowing he would be there. My deepest sympathy to the entire family. He will be remembered fondly.

Oh my---
Jack was a good man. He extended favors without question, although he took too many "Mulligans." I truly enjoyed the weekends at Tahoe, my head still hurts, but the food was superb and I will miss the bike ride around the lake. I can imagine ND will go undefeated where Jack is...
