Joyce Vicari Obituary


VICARI, Joyce
Age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 18, 2008, in Ione. She was born December 6, 1931, to George and Birrell (Studley) Childs in Baker, Idaho. Joyce moved to Amador County in 1964 with her husband Sam and their sons. She worked at Preston School of Industry for 15 years before retiring at the age of 58. "She loved her friends and 'her life' was her family." Joyce is survived by her sons Dave Vicari and wife Marge of Jackson, Mike Vicari and wife Karen of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Don Vicari and wife Lisa of Sutter Creek; grandchildren Sam, Tony, Vince, Dominic, Chloe, Victor, Donny, Mike, Heather, Shea, Melissa, Katie, and Sarah; great-grandchildren Haley and Alyssa. She was preceded by her husband of 43 years, Sam, in 1996, and brother Richard Childs. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at DANERI MORTUARY CHAPEL in Jackson. Interment will be at the Garden of Valor, Sunset View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Amador, P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642. Aunt Joyce,

You were always my favorite Aunt and you were always so good to me.

You were always supportive of me and always encouraged me to follow my dreams and I thank you for all the love you have always shown me.

I will miss you. Heaven has a new angel!

Joyce was a neat lady, I knew her at PSI and remember the Lottery win. She was very kind to the "New Guy" at Preston. I'm sure she'll be missed greatly!
