Julie Vartanian-Jannicelli Obituary

Julie Ann Vartanian-Jannicelli, age 52, passed away peacefully in Stockton, CA, surrounded by her loving family, on July 1, 2011. Julie was born in Sacramento on July 16, 1958, and grew up in Sacramento and Marin County. Later, Julie moved to Stockton, where she found professional success as an administrative specialist setting up pension plans. She excelled in the business and eventually started her own company, Delta Pension Services. Julie will be remembered by the many who loved her for her quick and colorful wit, big heart, adventurous spirit, beautiful smile and her big brown eyes. Julie enjoyed traveling to warm destinations, eclectic music, children, cooking, animals, and dancing. A natural born dancer, Julie was among the first Sacramento Kings cheerleaders chosen, a professional belly dancer, and a graceful and elegant ballerina. It's no surprise that Dancing with the Stars was one of her favorite shows. Deeply spiritual from a young age, Julie embraced Reiki therapy, a spiritual practice that promotes healing and well-being, later becoming a Reiki Master. Julie was a remarkable woman who filled all of our lives with love, laughter, encouragement and hope. She will be missed terribly. Of her many accomplishments in her short lifetime, she was most proud of her two sons, whom she dearly loved: Michael Berg, who is pursuing a career in law enforcement, teaches swimming to young children and officiates college level basketball games. Eric Berg, a professional drummer in a world champion marching band, will continue his college pursuits next year. Julie was preceded in death by her dear brother, Mark A. Dienstag. Julie is survived by her husband, Steven Jannicelli; sons, Michael Berg and Eric Berg of Livermore, CA; parents, Peter R. Vartanian of Sacramento and Kay Dienstag of San Francisco; sisters, Gina Vartanian of Marin County and Sharon D'Arelli of Sacramento; nephew, Aaron Kim; niece and godchild, Elena Kim; niece, Bryce D'Arelli; uncles, Sam Vartanian and Tom Dorsey; aunts, Margaret Vartanian and Sandy Brown; cousins, George Vartanian, Mike Vartanian, Nancy Vartanian, Sharon Vartanian Dorsey, Nancy Harlow, Theresa Rister and numerous other family members. A memorial service celebrating Julie's life will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church on Franklin Boulevard, Sacramento, on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 1pm. August 5 2011 1:00 pm
