Kathryn Frazier Obituary

FRAZIER, Kathryn "Elaine" 4-29-1955 10-17-2014 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elaine Frazier due to a 6 year battle with Cancer. Elaine passed on October 17th, with her husband Pete Covitch at her side. Born in Los Angeles, CA to Don and Lila Frazier. They moved to Sacramento, CA while she was a young child. She graduated from Hiram W. Johnson High School then attended Sacramento City College, SFSU and CSUS majoring in geology. Elaine was a very strong willed person and didn't let her illness stop her from what she enjoyed. She played the piano, was an avid reader, a fan of film noir and loved to travel. Her sisters have great memories of visiting Japan, Disneyland, San Francisco, New Orleans, Salem MA, renaissance faires and the Queen Mary with her. When Elaine was 30 years old her niece Stephanie wrote an essay about her called "A Real Woman". Stephanie said she admired her aunt Elaine because she has a very interesting life and she is very scientific. Elaine is survived by her loving husband Pete Covitch, step-daughter Stacy Covitch, step-son Joey Covitch, step Grandkids Katie and Eli Covitch, father Donald Frazier, sister's Diane Whittingham and Jill Williamson, nephew Scott Whittingham, niece's Eryn Williamson and Mollie Whittingham and great nephew Shane Dunn. She was preceded in death by her mother Lila Frazier and her niece Stephanie Frazier MacDowell. Elaine will be cremated and her ashes scattered in the San Francisco Bay near Sausalito, CA where she and Pete spent many wonderful weekends together. In lieu of sending flowers please make a donation to Elaine's favorite charity, Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary 6001 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento CA 95819 www.happytails.org . or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. We are all going to miss you so much. HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU KID

You were the best friend a little girl could have!
Playing snee (hiding around the house) or endless games and swingset fun with all the other kids on the block. Barbies for hours. Yours was the one with the blond ponytail and black and white swimsuit. Or riding our bikes until we didn't know where we were - the game to find our way back home. Collecting rocks (you knew each by name!).
Walks to school. Joining in the yacht club parade on our "river rat" entry.
You were always so smart and pretty, but the glow came from the inside.
Your mom and dad and sisters were the best.
We lost contact after my many moves. My husband and daughter would tease me about my "imaginary friend" who I couldn't seem to locate, until now. You are missed!
Belated sympathy to your wonderful family. You're forever in our hearts.

Just learned of Elaine's passing from Pete, and I am deeply saddened by this news, now almost a year old. I worked with Elaine for years, and her warmth, smile and delightfully wicked sense of humor made every interaction special.

Dearest Elaine, I, as everyone else know you are resting in peace, pain free. You will be missed dearly. You will always have a place in my heart Elaine. You were there for my dad since day 1, and know that you were very appreciated. I will miss those big "GIANT" hugs and big smiling face when I came home to visit. OH, and those tacos!! :) mmm.mmmmmmm.mmm
Please look down upon us all, family, friends, and baby Emily which will be born in January. You will be her guardian angel. I love you, always!

So sad to hear of Elaine's passing. We were friends all through elementary school. She was a nice person and by far the smartest girl in class. One day we found an unusal object while playing in the grass at school. It was metal and had the words 'thinks America' stamped in reverse on the edge. Later, on a field trip to the Sacramento Bee we saw several of these metal objects on the floor. They were printer plates. Elaine and I felt special to have a plate of our own and vowed to take turns saving 'thinks America' forever. It was in Elaine's possession when we lost touch after sixth grade. I smiled each time I thought of Elaine and that little piece of metal. Rest peacefully, Elaine and remember... 'thinks America'.

Elaine, God must have other plans for you to have taken you so early, as Tim said you were so smart and so beautiful. I went to high school with Elaine, and I don't remember a time that you did not see a smile on her face. Elaine, you are loved and know that you were such an inspiration during your time here. XOXOXOXO

I, too, wish we could have been closer families in distance. It was always such a thrill if the Frazier's from CA were coming to KS. It usually coordinated with Uncle Don's HS reunion in Goodland where we lived as did his mother, our grandmother, Martha Frazier. Only once did we get to go to CA to visit, but I have warm memories of that time. What a loving family Uncle Don and Aunt Lila made with their girls. RIP, Cousin Elaine. I wish we could have been closer.

proud of her little car..

I'm so sorry to read about this. Elaine was a schoolmate. We walked to school together every day in Junior High. I always admired her. Rest in peace beautiful Elaine. I am so sad to see you go.

Elaine use to walk to Will C. Wood Jr. High School in Sacramento with myself and friends Marilyn and Leah. I remember her thrill when she got a new root beer colored 10 speed bike. We enjoyed hanging out together and I remember she liked strawberries and had many strawberry decorations in her room . She always had a smile for everyone. My sympathy to her Family on her passing.

Elaine,

I will always remember the date of October 17, 2014. It was the day you left us a void in our hearts. The reason you were chosen to be a victim of this horrible cancer I will never understand. But I do know you were an inspiration to everyone for how strong and how hard you fought against it these last few years. I am wearing one of my favorite heart necklaces of yours and every time it chimes I think of you. Thank you so much for giving my dad 20 wonderful years together and making many memories for him to always look back on. Thank you for always being there for me to explain and help my dad understand things in a way that I could never do. And thank you for always supporting me. I will do my best in taking care of my dad and making sure he's ok as I know you would expect me to do. Love you always Elaine. Rest in paradise.

Love- Stacy xo

I remember cousin Elaine as a beautiful little girl. Our families were so far apart, Kansas to California, that we never saw each other as we grew up. I greatly regret that I missed out on knowing a bright and beautiful woman.

I remember my cousin Elaine as the cutest little girl! I've always been sad that our families never had the opportunities to get together as we grew older. Kansas and California are so far apart. I greatly regret that I missed out on knowing a very bright and beautiful lady.

I was her caregiver the last six weeks of her life. We were quick friends, I miss spending time every day with her and our last conversation was her helping me find a recipe for angel biscuts that I had lost. She was an amazing womon that I will miss greatly! See you again some day! Janie

This is such sad news for me. Elaine Frazier and I lived virtually around the corner from one another and we attended the same Jr. High School and High School. Man was she smart, beautiful and friendly. Her and I were never best of friends. I think she saw me as more of a nuisance most of the time. She truly was from Venus I was from Mars. Its so painful to lose people from my past. I send my sincerest condolences to all of Elaine's family and friends.
