Kelly Nishite Obituary

NISHITE, Kelly
August 15, 1962 - August 24, 2005. Kelly Nishite passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on August 24, 2005, surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted and beloved husband, Craig and two loving daughters Kelsie and Kylie. Kelly is also survived by her parents Sat and Miki Murakami; brother Todd (Mika) and nephew Tyler and niece Aly; mother-in-law Patty Nishite; and father-in-law Gary Nishite. She leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Kelly loved her job as a controller at Takehara Landscape, where she worked for 15 years. She was an active member of the Sacramento Buddhist Church as a long-time basketball coach in the Sports Program and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. Her love in life was working with children, and Joseph Sims Elementary School became her 2nd "office" as she put in thousands of hours of volunteer time during the last 5 years. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento, 2401 Riverside Blvd. Arrangements by: GEORGE L.

I used to be Shelly Wagner. I'm sure Mrs. Murakami remembers me (?). I went to Webster and Stagg with Kelly. We played sports and had gym class together. We didn't have any other classes together 'cause she was so much smarter than me:)

I am very sorry to hear the news. i ahd just attended a meeting for teachers with another old alumnist, Kathleen Moody. Kathleen told me she read the obituary in the paper. That was on a Monday. I called our firend Marlesse Valentine to ask if she knew anything. Well, by the time I found out when and where to meet you, I was a day late.

I am so sorry for your loss and that I was unable to be at the services. I always liked Kelly. She was funny, fair, smart and a great athlete. I will always have her in my memories of our "formative years".
